It is a 7.5 amp fuse (in my picture, it is the upside down 7.5 in the upper left area). Simply pull the fuse out with the tool provided inside the engine bay fuse box. Turn on the car for 3 minutes, I did 5 to be safe. Turn the car off, plug the fuse back in, turn the car on and SYNC should be working flawlessly.
Yes, common problem with Kuga. I'm on diagnose step at the moment and so far it look like same pattern, when SYNC fuse is out, current drain when car is off drop to 0.01A.
Bluetooth connectivity issues on Ford Sync are mostly software related, If you carry out a hard reset by removing the fuse for the Sync-2, this usually cures the problem. You should also ask the main dealer if there are any software updates available for your car.
I can confirm this worked on a Ford Kuga 2013 model as well. We had the iPhone 5S succesfully paired but when we received a call, the audio was not automatically transferred to the speaker system (no ringing on the speakers, no voice). In this case we had to take the phone, select as audio source the iphone and then again "sync", then it worked.
You may like to try placing the fob at the side of thesteering wheel to start the car and see if that re-initialises the remote control. Other than that it maybe a case of using a second remote control (which you havent got) which may have also re-initialise the non functioning fob if it was inside the car with you.
